Tourné stupa location
In a quiet forest valley in the foothills of the pyrenees mountains in Occitanie, the location for the stupa being built by the Okairos
association.
Tourné has long been a centre for gathering people working towards a common goal. In the past it hosted a music school, it has hosted small communities and more recently since 2003 it has been a location for meditation and other spiritual retreats in the buddhist and taoist tradition.
It is an environment that is rich in natural beauty and has long offered support to dharma projects and teachings.
Okairos members meet at Tourné to continue work on the stupa.
There are at least two residential retreats each year and several one
day meetings where local members participate in preparing the sacred contents of the stupa. This included preparation of mantras, rolling the mantras into appropriate sizes, preparing tsa tsa [clay statues], inserting mantra into the tsa tsa and generally advancing the work of the association.
Land adjacent to Tourné is being prepared for a stupa trail – a forest
walk from one stupa to another. This is the long term vision for Fakirs in association with the centre at Tourné.
